About Cove Reservations
April, September, October - Weekends Only- 10am-6pm
May- August- 7 days/week- 10am-7pm
  • The picnic area is for Newton Residents and businesses only. Businesses must have a major physical presence in Newton, not just a staff or an affiliated member who lives in Newton.
  • Call or email the office to see if the date, time and space is available
  • If space is available, we will pencil you in, once you are penciled in we will forward the picnic application
  • You will complete and return the application and make the non-refundable fee
  • Once processed an email confirmation will be sent to applicant
  • Bring the permit/email with you on the day of the picnic
  • Staff will be on site
  • Restrooms will be open
  • Charcoal grills are available, you must bring your own charcoal
  • Fields, courts, and playground are available to the public and are not included in this permit
  • Additional permits and fees may be required for alcohol, propane and catering
  • Not permitted: food trucks, amusement, rides, inflatables, amplified sound. There is no electrical outlet available.
Available Sites & Important Notes:
Site 2 has seating for 50 people $50.00/hour
Site 3 has seating for 50 people $50.00/hour
Site 4 has seating for 50 people $50.00/hour
  • Group sizes cannot exceed what you are permitted for. If permit holder exceeds permitted number of individuals group may not be allowed to rent in the future.
  • Groups must leave when their permit time ends. Groups that have the last permits of the day, ending at 6pm or 7pm, must leave the picnic area, no exceptions.  If these groups stay after the allotted time, Newton Police will ask the group to leave, and this may affect the group renting next year.
