Crystal Lake Summer Swim Lessons

Sessions Offered:

Held daily Monday to Friday, each session is two weeks.

Session #1: July 1st - July 12th (No classes July 4th Holiday- Session has been prorated to reflect one less class)
Session #2: July 15th - July 26th
Session #3: July 29th - August 9


Registration Fee:

$250 for Newton Residents
$300 for Non-Residents 

** Please note the preschool classes are $275 for residents, $325 for non residents. Preschool age swimmers (5&younger) do not need a pool membership so the lesson registration fee is slightly higher. 

*ALL swim lesson participants must have a summer lake membership. This can be purchased ONLINE. You will pick up your scan tag at your first visit to the lake. This is a separate one time purchase per summer. About the Program:

The Swim Lesson Program will be taught by Swim Instructors and their assistants. The lessons will follow an American Red Cross curriculum, adjusted to each class as necessary. The Learn-to-Swim program focuses on building skills one step at a time. By giving them the opportunity to master one element before moving on to the next, our kids' swim classes make it easy to build confidence in the water.

Refund Policy:

Enrollment in a Parks, Recreation & Culture Aquatics program including swimming lessons, swim team and Lifeguard training courses are final.  Once the session has started, there are no refunds or credits given. In the event of inclement weather causing the facility to be closed, you will receive a refund for the value of the missed lesson.

Notes for Parents:

On the first day of the session, the instructors will evaluate each student to ensure they are in the right class level

Please arrive early the first day to check in with the Head Instructor and get familiar with the facility.

Scan in at the Front Desk each morning. 

Locker rooms, changing areas, showers and restrooms are available for swimmers & parents.

Children MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian while in the Showers

Swim Lessons are held in rain or shine. Lake only closes for Thunder/Lightening.

What to bring: swim suit & a towel. Goggles optional. Lessons are held outdoors so please practice sun safety and wear sunscreen. 


Registration opens Monday May 20th, 2024 at 9:00am. We are offering as many lessons as possible with our Instructor availability. If your desired class is full, enroll on the wait list. DO NOT register for a level too advanced for your child.
