Newton Youth Services is partnering with Newton Parks, Recreation & Culture to offer two employment focused workshops for teens ages 14 - 18 in preparation for summer and post high school employment and internship opportunities.  

This workshop is offered to Newton residents and students enrolled at Newton Public Schools.  Located at Newton South High School in the Athletic Complex.

Sunday, February 2 from 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Finding a Job
- job search
- reviewing job descriptions
- filling out an application
- cover letters and resumes  
- what comes next
Please bring your current resume and cover letter to review.  If you don't have a resume, please bring a list of work or job related experiences, awards, activities or skills that you have that you can use to create a resume.  

Sunday, February 9 from 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Preparing for Interviews
- understanding the job you are applying for
- structure of an interview
- general tips
- sample interview questions
- practice interviews
- what to do after the interview

Students can sign up for one or both workshops.  There is a $5.00 fee per workshop and pre-registration is required.  Scholarships are available.  If you need a scholarship or have registered and find you can no longer attend, please email Channon Ames at cames@newtonma.gov
