Halloween Window Painting

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

The 24th annual Newton Halloween Window Painting event takes place on Saturday, October 28, 2023 (rain date; October 29). Halloween Window Painting has become a tradition in Newton; it provides a safe, fun opportunity for Newton students to celebrate Halloween and express their artistic side along with friends and family. No experience necessary!

This event is open to Newton students in Grades 3-8 (under adult supervision). Each artist is assigned a space on the outside of a participating merchant's window on which to paint their masterpiece. The subject matter can be anything you like with a Halloween theme—jack o’ lanterns, ghosts, goblins, witches, owls, black cats and more—each artist has their own take on the haunted holiday! Please be sure you have read the rules and guidelines prior to the event.

The painting is done in six Newton villages: Auburndale, Newton Centre, Newton Highlands, Newtonville, Nonantum, and West Newton. Register for your preferred village. If there are no longer available spaces for that village, you may sign up for the wait list or register for an alternative village. Please register early! Early-bird registration ends October 8; after that date a late fee of $5 will be applied. No registrations will be accepted after October 15.

Window assignments will be announced Friday October 20 on our webpage www.newtonma.gov/culture.

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
