Gath Pool Summer Swim Lessons

Sessions Offered:

Held daily Monday to Friday, each session is two weeks.

Session #1: June 27th - July 8th, no lessons July 4th Holiday
Session #2: July 11th - July 22nd
Session #3: July 25th - August 5th
Session #4: August 8th - August 19th


Registration Fee:

Newton Residents: $175.00
Non- Residents: $220.00 

** No classes July 4th Holiday- Session 1 has been prorated to reflect one less class

*ALL swim lesson participants must have a summer pool membership. This can be purchased ONLINE. You will pick up your scan tag at your first visit to the pool. This is a separate on time purchase per summer. Non Residents are not eligible for a summer membership so the non resident price reflects the difference. Once you register for your swim lessons, you can purchase the membership under the "memberships" section or click this link:

About the Program:

The Swim Lesson Program will be taught by Swim Instructors and their assistants. The lessons will follow an American Red Cross curriculum, adjusted to each class as necessary. The Learn-to-Swim program focuses on building skills one step at a time. By giving them the opportunity to master one element before moving on to the next, our kids' swim classes make it easy to build confidence in the water.

Refund Policy:

Enrollment in a Parks, Recreation & Culture Aquatics program including swimming lessons, swim team and Lifeguard training courses are final.  Once the session has started, there are no refunds or credits given. In the event of inclement weather causing the facility to be closed, you will receive a check refund for the value of the missed lesson.

Notes for Parents:

On the first day of the session, the instructors will evaluate each student to ensure they are in the right class level

Please arrive early the first week to check in with the Head Instructor and get familiar with the facility.

Scan in at the Front Desk each morning. 

Locker rooms, changing areas, showers and restrooms are available for swimmers & parents.

If you have questions about your child's swim lessons, please see the Head Instructor.

Swim Lessons are held in rain or shine. Pool only closes for Thunder/Lightening.

What to bring: swim suit & a towel. Goggles optional. Lessons are held outdoors so please practice sun safety and wear sunscreen. 

*All participants must be fully toilet trained


Registration opens May 16th, 2022 at 9:00am. We are offering as many lessons as possible with our Instructor availability. If your desired class is full, enroll on the wait list. DO NOT register for a level too advanced for your child.
