Parks, Recreation & Culture is pleased to offer Winter Swim Lessons held at the Newton North High School Pool. Swimming Lessons will be held on Sunday mornings only.

December 5th, 2021 to January 30th, 2022
*No class on December 26
Registration Fee:
$165.00 per child, no pool membership required for Winter Swim Lessons
About the Program:
The Swim Lesson Program will be taught by Swim Instructors and their assistants. The lessons will follow an American Red Cross curriculum, adjusted to each class as necessary.
The Learn-to-Swim program focuses on building skills one step at a time. By giving them the opportunity to master one element before moving on to the next, our kids' swim classes make it easy to build confidence in the water.
There are no refunds or makeup classes for students that miss a day of class. In the event the facility is closed (ex: snowstorm) you will receive a credit applied to your account that can be used for any Parks & Recreation program including future swim lessons or summer camps.
Notes for Parents:
On the first day of the session, the instructors will evaluate each student to ensure they are in the right class level
Please arrive early the first week to check in with the Head Instructor and get familiar with the facility.
Check in with the staff member in the Lobby. Enter the high school thru the Main Entrance at Tiger Drive.
Locker rooms, changing areas, showers and restrooms are available for swimmers & parents.

What to bring: swim suit & a towel. Goggles optional.
*All participants must be fully toilet trained to swim in the high school pool
COVID-19: Due to current City regulations, face masks are required to be worn while indoors in public spaces. Swimmers and staff will be wearing face masks unless they are in the water. If you or your child are experiencing any illness or symptoms of covid-19 DO NOT attend your swimming lesson.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
Programs: Enrollment in a Parks, Recreation & Culture Aquatics program including swimming lessons, swim team and Lifeguard training courses are final. Once the session has started, there are no refunds or credits given. In the event you need to cancel your enrollment, it must be done at least 7 days in advance from the start of the program and you will be refunded minus a $10.00 administration fee. In the event of a serious medical illness or injury, a refund may be given if the program manager is presented with appropriate physician verification. Cancellations: In the event a program needs to be cancelled by the department (ex: severe weather, facility closure etc), the participant will receive a credit posted to their account for the value of the missed session. There are no make up classes or refunds for students who do not attend a day of class.
