PICKLBALL IS NOT FOR EVERYONE! ASSES YOUR ABILITY!
Pickleball demands a range of athletic skills to be played safely. Honestly evaluate your fitness in the following areas:
- Balance: Can you quickly stop, pivot, and change direction without feeling unsteady? Poor balance is a major risk factor for falls.
- Agility: Pickleball requires fast lateral movements, quick starts, and sudden changes of direction.
- Endurance: The game involves constant motion, and stamina is necessary to prevent fatigue, which can increase your risk of injury.
- Strength: Core, leg, and upper-body strength are essential for stability, powerful shots, and preventing shoulder and elbow strain.
- Flexibility and mobility: A good range of motion is necessary for effective shots and to avoid strains when reaching for the ball.
