Horseback Riding at Willow Brook Farm

Join Newton Parks and Recreation as we travel out to Willow Brook Farm in Holliston for horseback riding and horsemanship activities.  Transportation is provided from the Gath Pool/Albemarle Field House in Newton to Willow Brook Farm in Holliston in Newton Parks and Recreation department vans.

Riders will participate in 1 hour of group horseback riding lessons and 1 hour of horsemanship activities each day.   This program is great for beginner to intermediate boys and girls and will focus on the basics of horseback riding including mounting, steering, how to control the horse, correct position while riding at the walk and trot, and more.  Horsemanship activities will include grooming, leading a horse, tacking up, stable management, equine terminology, colors and markings, and more.  Participants must be able to follow directions in a group setting. 

Our current programs are for kids in grades 3 - 5.  Willow Brook Farm also does private and group lessons as well as camps and birthday parties for others that are interested.  Check out their website at https://willowbrookholliston.com/ for more information. 

In order to accommodate everyone that wants to participate, kids can only participate in 1 session per school year.
