Ukulele Unleashed: From Absolute Beginner to...???The ukulele was once dismissed as a toy. It is now recognized to be oneof the most versatile and enjoyable instruments of all!  It is truly"the people's instrument" that will have you playing songs by the end ofthe first class.Begin your journey into becoming an accomplished ukulele player withthis series of eight one-hour sessions designed to give absolutebeginners a solid foundation in playing the ukulele.The course assumes zero prior musical knowledge.  It will coveressential topics such as ukulele anatomy, tuning, basic chords, andstrumming techniques.  Each lesson builds upon the previous one,ensuring a smooth and enjoyable learning curve.Each session will have us playing some songs together, making it feellike a musical jam with friends.  By the end of the eight weeks you willhave the skills necessary to play not only for your own enjoyment butalso to play with family and friends, and even begin taking part in themany social ukulele activities that take place in the greater Boston area.Your instructor is Jerry Dallal, who runs the twice-a-month "Uke in theAfternoon" ukulele Meetup at the Robbins Library in Arlington and, withMarisa Cacciatore, leads the A&W Ukulele Players, who perform at SeniorCenters, Farmers' Markets, and other events in the greater Boston area.Jerry also taught ukulele for absolute beginners for us from 2018 thru(thanks to Zoom) the pandemic.
